It’s just June, but the Christmas Honor Card, a Rowan Helping Ministries fundraising tradition, is on the minds of organizers.
If you’re a local artist, Rowan Helping Ministries is accepting submissions for this year’s card.
The card has been a Rowan Helping Ministries tradition for two decades. It gives artists a chance to support the community through the nonprofit and is also a way for supporters to honor their friends, a co-worker, a family member or others by making a minimum $5 donation to Rowan Helping Ministries.
Artists must deliver artwork to Rowan Helping Ministries by July 8. By July 9, a committee will choose the artwork.
The artwork can be 5-by-7 inches, 7-by-10 inches, 9-by-121/2 inches or 10-by-14 inches. Organizers ask artists to make sure to bleed the color outside the dimension chosen to allow for cropping and the signature should also be well inside the dimension lines.
Rowan Helping Ministries Executive Director Kyna Foster said it is always interesting to see the different art that is submitted.
“One thing we love is hearing the story behind the art. Sometimes and lately the art has related to our purpose and mission and how that inspired the art,” Foster said.
