SHELBY (AP) — A NASCAR driver has turned himself in to authorities in Shelby after warrants were issued for him and a business partner.
Rowan County sheriff’s deputies say warrants were issued for Mike Harmon and a business partner on Monday afternoon. The men are charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
The charges are a result of search warrants executed at a storage shed in Catawba County and Harmon’s shop in Mooresville on May 28.
Harmon surrendered in Shelby late Monday afternoon. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
Investigators say the men stole at least seven vehicles from NASCAR’s truck racer Jennifer Jo Cobb last year. Harmon used to be the team manager for Cobb’s Nationwide racing team.
