CHARLOTTE (AP) — The Democratic National Committee says it’s missing nearly $500,000 in equipment used at the party’s convention in Charlotte last year.
The Charlotte Observer reported the committee has sent Charlotte-Mecklenburg police a list of the missing equipment, mostly computers, telephones and other communications equipment.
Washington attorney Joseph Sandler says it’s not unusual for equipment to be missing after the conventions. But Sandler says he thinks that Charlotte losses were higher than usual because planners prepared for events both at Time Warner Cable Arena and Bank of America Stadium.
He says some of the equipment may have been kept by committee staffers. But Sandler says he thinks some of the equipment was stolen.
Sandler says he does not think Charlotte police will be able to find much of the missing equipment.
