KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis woman accused of forging her grandmother’s checks has been arrested.
Christen Suzanne Castor, 26, of Enochville Road in Kannapolis, was charged with 26 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. She was given a $50,000 bond and taken to the Rowan County Detention Center.
Investigators began looking for Castor after her grandmother, Ruby Gainey, contacted law enforcement on June 12.
According to a report from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Gainey received a letter on June 6 from Fifth Third Bank saying her account was overdrafted by $3,243. Bank personnel told Gainey that the checks were written between May 6 and June 6 and made out to Christen Castor.
When Gainey contacted the sheriff’s office, warrants were issued for Castor’s arrest.
