Severe storm warning issued for western Rowan

SALISBURY — A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for western Rowan County.
The National Weather Service says radar shows a storm capable of producing hail and winds of more than 60 miles an hour is in the area southwest of Statesville and moving east at 10 miles an hour.
