Man charged with forging stolen checks

SALISBURY — A Thomasville man faces multiple counts of forgery after allegedly writing checks worth more than $3,000 to himself from a stolen checkbook.
James Richard Wilson, 27, of 153 Mockingbird Lane in Thomasville, is charged with 12 counts of uttering a forged instrument, eight counts of forgery of instrument and one count of receiving stolen goods.
He is accused of cashing stolen, forged checks written to himself in October and November. The checks were written on an account at Community One Bank.
Wilson was booked Sunday at the Rowan County Detention Center and posted $10,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
