SALISBURY — A man who authorities say caused the 2010 collision that resulted in a woman’s death has been indicted on another charge by the Rowan County Grand Jury.
Kenneth Lewis was indicted in November on a charge of driving left of center/hit and run in the wreck that claimed the life of Carolyn Wilson as she drove home from work.
In December 2010, authorities said a drunken Lewis crossed the center lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Wilson. He was charged with driving while impaired, felony death by motor vehicle and other driving infractions.
In September, Lewis was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder.
The grand jury also indicted the following:
• Jereme Bates, possession of a firearm by a felon and four counts assault by pointing a gun.
Bates was charged in September by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Bates pleaded guilty Sept. 1 in Iredell County Superior Court to felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances.
• Christopher Gareau, driving while impaired and driving left of center.
Gareau was charged in July with heroin possession and traffic infractions.
In October, a grand jury indicted Gareau on multiple drug possession charges and as a habitual felon.
• William Gavidia, conspiring to break and enter a place of worship, two counts felony breaking and entering a place of worship, two counts felony larceny, three counts breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
Gavidia is one of two people charged in August in connection with a number of church and residental break-ins.
Several stolen items were found in an outbuilding, and a bank bag taken during a break-in at Grace Lutheran Church. Grace Lutheran Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church and United Christian Fellowship were the churches broken into.
• Antonio Kerns, trafficking in cocaine.
Police raided Kerns’ Partee Street home in September and found 1.2 ounces of cocaine at the home.
Kerns was also indicted in October on various drug possession charges.
• Anthony Little, breaking and entering a building.
Two 13-year-old girls told authorities they hid in a closet as a man came into their home, walked around and was heard rifling through drawers. The girls called 911 and when law enforcement arrived, Little was sitting on a golf cart in the driveway of a home on Cedar Hill Drive.
Little was charged in October with breaking and entering and linked to another residential break-in.
• Jason Morris, felony larceny.
Morris fled on foot when a sheriff’s deputy spotted him near a scrap metal pile. He told officers he was picking up cans in the woods.
Officers were responding to a call of suspicious activity in the area. Authorities found a crow bar and a dismantled Rusher Oil garage. They also found an air conditioning unit that had recently been gutted.
• Roderick Polk, felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for the sale of a controlled substance.
Polk was arrested in August in connection with incidents that occurred July 21.
He was also arrested in February on cocaine possession and other drug charges and again in March on a charge of possessing prescription narcotics.
• Robin Otto Worth, assault on a law enforcement officer as well as resist, delay or obstruct a public officer.
Worth was arrested in October after authorities say he punched an off-duty officer in the face as he was leaving a club.
