SALISBURY — Seven Rowan residents have been arrested in the last few weeks after investigators conducted an undercover drug investigation.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, detectives bought pills or heroin from all of those arrested.
In the roundup, deputies arrested Zachary Todd Rumple, 504 Carter St., Kannapolis, and his father Christopher Todd Rumple.
Zachary, 21, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, felony selling and delivery heroin, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep, store and sell heroin, misdemeanor resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer, misdemeanor assault on a government official and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies said his 43-year-old father attempted to prevent his son’s arrest and was also charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official. Christopher Rumple says he was only trying to calm his son down, not interfere with the arrest.
Zachary Rumple was released after posting a $10,000 bond. His father also posted a $500 bond.
Rumple was convicted in August of two counts of felony trafficking heroin, three counts of felony trafficking narcotics, felony maintaining a dwelling for keeping controlled drugs, driving while impaired, injury to personal property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was given 72 months of probation.
Officers found and charged 18-year-old Michael Wayne Wyrick at his Cleveland home Tuesday evening.
He was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone and two counts of felony trafficking in opium.
Wyrick, 526 Cedar Glen Circle, was given a $100,000 bond and was in jail on Wednesday.
Joshua Christopher Perkins, 1036 Raven Ct., was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone pills, two counts of felony trafficking in heroin and felony maintaining a dwelling for storing controlled drugs.
The 20-year-old was in jail Wednesday under a $100,000 bond.
Deputies also arrested 18-year-old Andrew Hayden Poston at his 104 Barrington Court home about 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Poston was charged with felony conspiracy to sell and deliver narcotics.
He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
Nicholas Steven Watts, 22, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, felony selling and delivering heroin and felony conspiracy to sell and deliver heroin.
Watts, 660 Gold Knob Road, bonded out after paying $10,000.
Patricia Denise Kluttz, 48, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, felony selling and delivering oxycodone and felony maintaining a dwelling for storing controlled drugs.
Kluttz, 1820 Kluttz Road, was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
Deputies have also obtained warrants on 21-year-old Jonathan Childs.
Officers said Childs will be charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana and felony selling and delivering marijuana.
