Doug Ray of Salisbury recently acquired this photograph, which appeared in the Salisbury Post Dec. 21, 1955. It shows Amos Misenheimer, center, receiving a gold watch from Buford Guy, manager of Coca-Cola Bottling in Salisbury. Misenheimer received the honor in recognition of his 45 years of continuous service with the bottling plant. His wife stands beside him. Misenheimer was 15 when he went to work for the company as a bottle washer. In 1910, when he joined the company, it included three people and a horse. This particular Coca-Cola Christmas banquet was held at DiMizio’s Restaurant. Ray says he would like to give the photograph to any relatives of Misenheimer’s who might be interested in having it.
