SALISBURY — Fire departments from across Rowan County converged on the Granges facility in the 1700 block of Jake Alexander Boulevard South to fight a three-alarm fire around 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

According to emergency personnel, the fire initially triggered the alarms. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were met with heavy smoke and they upgraded the incident to a commercial structure fire, according to a release from the city.
