MISENHEIMER — U.S. News and World Report released the 2024 rankings for the best middle schools in North Carolina. Gray Stone Middle School ranked No. 42 (top 6.1 percent) in NC Middle Schools and No. 15 among N.C. charter middle schools.
The methodology for the rankings focused on state assessments of students who were proficient or above proficient in mathematics and reading/language arts while accounting for student backgrounds, achievement in core subjects and how well schools are educating their students.
“I am thrilled that our middle school is being recognized for this prestigious honor,” Chief Administrative Officer Helen Nance said. “Our faculty are committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment while preparing them for high school. I am so proud of our teachers’ unwavering dedication to student success.”
Gray Stone Day School Middle School was established in 2017 in order to help students prepare for a college preparatory high school. Gray Stone Day School is a public charter school and free to attend.
