SALISBURY — Police charged a man with felony disclosing private images on Sunday after he allegedly shared explicit photos of an ex-girlfriend on social media and with her coworkers and grandmother.

Deputies responded to a call from the victim after she said she received a screen-recording of the man’s WhatsApp profile, which included photos taken of the pictures on the victim’s phone, according to a spokesperson for the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were able to connect the damage on the victim’s phone to the damage on the phone shown in the recording.

The photos shared were not sent to the man and he was not given permission to take them from the victim’s phone, according to the spokesperson. The profile also included a photo of an unidentified man exposing himself.

The victim said that the photos were also sent to her grandmother and coworkers at her place of work.

Rafael Moreno-Mondragon, 31, was charged with felony disclosing private images. While being booked at the magistrate’s office, Moreno-Mondragon allegedly told deputies “I didn’t post them on any social media, I just sent them to her sister,” according to the spokesperson.

Police reports did not list a bond for Moreno-Mondragon and he was not listed as an inmate at the Rowan County Detention Center.
