Upcoming Christmas services scheduled

Area churches will be conducting special services during the Christmas season. All are invited to attend. Some of these include:

First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St., Salisbury, will have a Blue Christmas Service on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. acknowledging how difficult this time of year can be for many; an informal Christmas Eve service at 11 a.m. for The ABCs of Christmas; and a traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m.

Lyerly Evangelical Church, 1320 Crescent Road., Rockwell, will present “The Living Gift” cantata Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m. A candle lighting service will be included. 

The Reach Church, 722 W. Horah Street, Salisbury will present “Oh Come Let Us Adore Him!”, an evening of music, dance and worship. It will be Dec. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and free for children younger than five. Featured violinist will be Alison Rolf.

Union Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, will have a special program Dec. 17 as they transform their fellowship hall to Bethlehem to tell the story of Jesus’ birth. It begins at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments to follow; Christmas Eve candlelight services of scripture and Christmas carols are at 4 p.m. or at 7:40 p.m. with a Christmas music prelude followed by the 8 p.m. evening candlelight service.
