SALISBURY — A second man has been arrested in relation to the Woodland Creek Apartments shooting after being released from the hospital.

The shooting occurred on Nov. 7. Police said that when they arrived at the apartment complex, they found at least four vehicles and three apartments riddled with bullet holes. Police also found an Ak-47 style rifle that had been hidden in the nearby woods. Deputies arrested 27-year-old Michael Daryle Withers and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon on the day of the incident.

An investigator from the sheriff’s office noticed on Nov. 28 that Shikese Zontae Mcentyre had been released from the hospital. Deputies did not receive any notification that Mcentyre was being released from the hospital. His name was entered as wanted into the National Crime Information Center.

Mcentyre turned himself into the magistrate’s office on Wednesday and was served with the warrants for his arrest there.

Mcentyre, 25, was charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property in relation to the early November shooting. Mcentyre was injured in the shooting, which meant deputies needed to wait until he had been treated for his injuries and was released from the hospital to arrest him, according to a spokesperson for the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Mcentyre was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. He was not given a bond.
