College women’s basketball: LC comes up short in CIAA road game

BOWIE, Md. — Samiyah Briggs scored 19 points as Livingstone’s women’s basketball team played another competitive road game on Saturday.

Bowie State held off the Blue Bears 68-61 at Jordan Arena in front of 411 fans.

It was a pretty solid effort by the Blue Bears, who shot 38.6 percent, made five 3-pointers and cut their turnovers down to 16.

Bowie State (8-3, 3-1) hurt the Blue Bears with 17 offensive rebounds and got to the foul line a lot more than Livingstone did. Bowie State had 31 free-throw attempts.

Livingstone (1-4, 0-3) got down 21-9 in the first quarter but outplayed the home team in the second quarter to get back in the game.

Anii Harris scored 21 for the Bulldogs.
