Blotter for Dec. 23: string of car break-ins reported at Woodland Creek Apartments

SALISBURY — At least five vehicles were stolen from after a string of larcenies at the Woodland Creek Apartments on Wednesday.
Around 8:30 a.m. a deputy responded to an apartment in the 400 block of Woodland Creek Drive in reference to a larceny from a motor vehicle, according to a spokesperson for the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. That vehicle had a window busted out and the owner reported items had been stolen. While there, the deputy discovered or was told about two other vehicles that had been broken into as well. Two more vehicles had belongings inside reported missing, but due to the lack of damage deputies believe that they were left unlocked.
According to police reports, the larcenies all occurred sometime between 5 a.m. and 12:14 p.m. on Wednesday. Multiple belongings were reported missing and a wallet was found lying on the ground in the parking lot.
No one has been charged in the break-ins as of Friday, and the spokesperson confirmed that the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate.
In Salisbury Police Department reports:
- Fraud occurred in the 900 block of Rowan Circle between 8 a.m. on Dec. 1 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 10. It was reported on Dec. 21.
- A hit and run causing property damage occurred in the 200 block of North Main Street between 8:45 a.m. and 11:49 a.m. on Dec. 21.
- Shoplifting occurred in the 300 block of South Arlington Street at 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 21. The total estimated loss was $179.
- Fraud by impersonation occurred in the 100 block of South Avalon Drive between 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 21. The total estimated loss was $6,500.
- An assault with sexual motives occurred in the 800 block of Maupin Avenue between 4 a.m. and noon on Dec. 21.
- Laurence Joseph Hicks, 40, was charged with felony trafficking in drugs; felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute; felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance; felony possession of a controlled substance on the premises of a penal institution; and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dec. 21.
- Scott Alan Turner, 30, was charged with larceny and felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substances on Dec. 21.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
- A larceny from a building occurred at Stokes Ferry Road between midnight on Aug. 1 and 9:10 a.m. on Aug. 1. It was reported on Dec. 20.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 200 block of Old Mills Pond Road at 8 a.m. on Dec. 16. It was reported on Dec. 20.
- A larceny from a motor vehicle and vandalism occurred at Woodland Creek Drive between 5 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. on Dec. 20.
- A larceny from a motor vehicle and vandalism occurred at Woodland Creek Drive at 8:29 a.m. on Dec. 20.
- A larceny from a motor vehicle and vandalism occurred at Stockade Court at 9:42 a.m. on Dec. 20.
- A larceny from a motor vehicle occurred at Woodland Creek Drive at 10:13 a.m. on Dec. 20.
- Vandalism occurred at Sage Way at 10:41 a.m. on Dec. 20.
- A larceny from a motor vehicle occurred at Trading Path Court at 12:14 p.m. on Dec. 20.
- A larceny occurred at Pinevale Drive between midnight and 1 p.m. on Dec. 20.
- Fraud by wire, computer or electronic manipulation occurred at Gold Knob Road between 5:23 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 5:23 p.m. on Dec. 19. It was reported on Dec. 20.
- Welfare fraud occurred at Chalk Maple Road between 7 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 15. It was reported on Dec. 20.
- Anthony Angle, 53, was charged with trafficking heroin or opium on Dec. 20.
- Jefaris Mikel Bennett, 29, was charged with breaking and entering, assault on a female and communicating threats on Dec. 20.
- Desarai Nikole Kizer, 36, was charged with attempted breaking and entering of a building on Dec. 20.
- Steven Jerome Anthony Polk Jr., 42, was charged with failing to notify of a change of address as a sex offender on Dec. 20.
- Jaden David Chapman, 20, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Dec. 20.
