SALISBURY — North Rowan senior Brittany Ellis scored her 1,000th career point and led the Cavaliers to a 64-38 victory against Carson in a Dale’s Sporting Goods Sam Moir Christmas Classic consolation game played on Friday afternoon.

SALISBURY — North Rowan’s boys beat South Rowan 77-56 on Friday afternoon in a Moir consolation game.
The fifth-seeded Cavaliers (5-4) took an early lead with dominant inside play by Jayden Polk, but South guard Dalton Young got hot and lifted his team back into the game with a spree of creative buckets.
North led only 33-31 at the break, but the Cavaliers recaptured control of the game with a strong third quarter and pulled away.

Young scored 29 for the Raiders. Aaron Jones had 10.
“Good first half, but we got caught up in playing their tempo in the third quarter, and we aren’t capable of that style,” South coach Daniel Blevins said. “We’re getting better, but we’re still trying to play a complete game.”
North coach Jason Causby was encouraged by his team’s second-half performance. The Cavaliers bounced back from a very tough loss to A.L. Brown in the first round.
“For us it.s about playing hard, playing smart and playing together,” Causby said.
