In Salisbury Police Department reports:
- An assault occurred in the 600 block of Brenner Avenue at 3:52 a.m. on Jan. 5.
- Fraud occurred in the 700 block of West Marsh Street between noon on Oct. 31, 2023, and 9 a.m. on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $25,000.
- A larceny occurred in the 300 block of South Shaver Street between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $10,800.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 900 block of Bendix Drive between 2:10 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2023. It was reported on Jan. 5.
- Fraud by wire, computer or electronic manipulation occurred in the 1400 block of Tilman Street between 1 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2023, and noon on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $17,999.
- Fraud occurred in the 1400 block of Tilman Street between 4:53 p.m. on June 20, 2023, and 4:53 p.m. on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $15,000.
- Credit card fraud occurred in the 800 block of West Jake Alexander Boulevard between noon on Dec. 19, 2023, and 5 p.m. on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $57.
- Shoplifting occurred in the 300 block of South Arlington Street at 7:38 p.m. on Jan. 5. The total estimated loss was $66.
- An assault occurred in the 900 block of Maple Avenue at 11:51 p.m. on Jan. 5.
- A burglary occurred in the 100 block of East Monroe Street at 2:13 a.m. on Jan. 6. The total estimated loss was $350.
- A hit and run causing property damage occurred in the 300 block of South Arlington Street between 2:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 6.
- A hit and run causing property damage occurred in the 700 block of South Jake Alexander Boulevard at 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 7.
- A hit and run causing property damage occurred in the 200 block of North Main Street at 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 7. Police reports list the city of Salisbury as the victim of the hit and run.
- Yanally Marione Macedo, 26, was charged with aggravated assault on Jan. 5.
- Crystal Dawn Kyles, 43, was charged with vandalism causing willful and wanton injury to real property on Jan. 5.
- Walter Lee Daugherty, 54, was charged with second-degree trespassing on Jan. 6.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
- An assault occurred in the 200 block of Chinquapin Lane at 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 1. It was reported on Jan. 4.
- Resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer and possession or concealment of a weapon occurred in the 1100 block of Crescent Road at 3:33 p.m. on Jan. 5. Police reports indicate that a suspect fled from police on foot.
- Vandalism occurred in the 2100 block of Mooresville Road between 12:54 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 6. According to a police spokesperson, deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering to find that someone had torn a door and part of the adjacent wall off of an outbuilding on the Carmel Baptist Church property. Security camera footage obtained by deputies showed a suspect arriving in a dark-colored pickup truck around 12:54 a.m. that day. The suspect then attached a chain to the door and used his truck to rip the door off the building. The suspect then entered the building, leaving a few minutes later. The spokesperson said that the footage had poor quality, so deputies were unable to discern any distinguishable features on the suspect.
- Stephen Thomas Morrow, 56, was charged with communicating threats on Jan. 4.
- Brandon Ray Shepherd, 33, was charged with a probation violation on Jan. 4.
- Wendell Scott Belk, 31, was charged with failure to work after being paid on Jan. 4.
- Michael Earl Perry, 57, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance on Jan. 4.
- Kristina Jenel Hicks, 37, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 4.
- Rachel Danielle McDuffie, 33, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 4.
- Sasha Cherie Rippey, 33, was charged with larceny on Jan. 5.
- Clifton Earl Johnson Jr., 47, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance on Jan. 5.
