RALEIGH — A 16-year-old being held at Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center in Concord escaped while being transported from a juvenile court visit in Goldsboro.
The juvenile, identified by WCTI Channel 12 in Goldsboro as Ishmael Jamal Bunch, was last seen on U.S. 70 West outside of Goldsboro on Thursday. His home county is Wayne County.
Police told the television station he later broke into a home and handcuffed the homeowner with the cuffs he broke out of during his escape.
The Division of Juvenile Justice notified local law enforcement of the escape. Due to the unpredictability of the juvenile, the division has a high degree of concern for the safety of both him and the public. It said the teen has a history of assaultive behavior.
