High school baseball: Trojans will retire Kyle Seager’s jersey

KANNAPOLIS — Northwest Cabarrus baseball will retire Kyle Seager’s No. 9 jersey on Monday, March 11, when the Trojans take on A.L. Brown at the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers’ Atrium Health Ballpark.
The game starts at 6 p.m., The festivities start at 5:30 p.m.
Seager led the Trojans to the 3A state championship series in 2005, starred at UNC and in the major leagues for 11 seasons with the Seattle Mariners.
He hit 242 homers in the majors and drove in 807 runs. He won a Gold Glove and played an all-star game.
