SALISBURY — A woman was arrested Friday morning after police said she woke up in her car and found her child missing.
Salisbury Police said Nancy Herlocker, of 205 Terrace Circle, called 911 and was “crying and very upset” about 8:30 a.m. because she could not find her child. She was parked in the 1500 block of South Jake Alexander Boulevard.
The 18-year-old “didn’t realize where she was at,” an arrest report said, and became violent when officers asked if she had a history of drug abuse.
The woman struck Officer Bryan Hodgson in the side of the face, cutting him. She was immediately handcuffed and taken into custody.
Officers said they spoke with the woman’s mother who said she took Herlocker’s son before the 18-year-old left Thursday night.
Herlocker was in jail Monday morning under a $1,000 bond.
She was charged with resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer and misdemeanor assault on a government official.
