College baseball: Indians’ offense not shabby against Belmont Abbey

BELMONT — Sam Hunter, Bo Rusher and Dylan Driver launched home runs as Catawba’s baseball team pounded Belmont Abbey 14-5 in a road n0n-conference game played on Tuesday.
Driver has recovered from a slump that probably was induced by a quad issue and had an All-America day with four runs, three hits and four RBIs. He swatted two doubles and has is batting average up to .344.
Hunter drove in three runs, while Rusher plated two with his fourth blast of the season for the Indians (16-6).
Ty Hubbard had two hits and two RBIs. Levi Perrell also had two hits.
Casey Gouge started on the mound and worked three innings. Mason Gwyn was credited with the win in relief.
Hayden Simmerson picked up a three-inning save, allowing only one hit and striking out five.
