In Salisbury Police Department reports:
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 400 block of Lash Drive between 12:30 a.m. and 5:03 a.m. on March 13.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 300 block of Henry Laurens Circle between 4 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. on March 13.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 600 block of South Caldwell Street at 6:32 a.m. on March 13.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the first block of Ryan Street at 7:10 a.m. on March 13.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 900 block of Laurel Pointe Circle between 6 a.m. and 7:42 a.m. on March 13.
- A burglary occurred in the 300 block of Maupin Avenue at 2:20 p.m. on March 13. The total estimated loss was $500.
- Fraud by a worthless check occurred in the 800 block of North Long Street at 2 p.m. on March 13.
- Blackmail or extortion occurred in the 400 block of Messner Street at 10:34 p.m. on March 12. It was reported on March 13.
- Benjamin Hawthorne, 58, was charged with resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer on March 13.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
- Littering or trash dumping occurred at Westen Acres Drive at 11:16 a.m. on March 12.
- Littering or trash dumping occurred at Unity Church Road at 1:03 p.m. on March 12.
- A burglary occurred at Thriftwood Court between 9 a.m. on March 1 and 9:20 a.m. on March 12.
- A larceny occurred at Grayson Drive between 11 a.m. on March 6 and 8 a.m. on March 10. It was reported on March 12.
- A larceny occurred at Jones Farm Road between 9 p.m. on March 11 and 3:55 p.m. on March 12. Police reports indicate that a Sig Sauer P365 handgun, valued at an estimated $605, was stolen.
- A theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 800 block of St. Stephens Church Road between 6 p.m. on March 10 and 6 p.m. on March 12.
- Destiny Dawn Parrish, 29, was charged with identity theft on March 12.
- Cary Markison Chaffin, 36, was charged with communicating threats on March 12.
