High school softball: Gray Stone edges Hornets

MISENHEIMER — A seventh-inning rally fell short, and Salisbury’s softball team lost 7-6 to Gray Stone on Monday.
Katie Peeler had a double, a triple, two steals and three runs scored for the Hornets (2-3).
In the circle, Peeler struck out eight in five innings.
Ashley Yang had a triple, a single and three RBIs.
Allie Peeler scored two runs. Jayla Robertson knocked in one.
London Gray and Josephina Hunyh had triples for Gray Stone (3-4).
Pitcher Emily Dorsey fanned nine Hornets.
Gray Stone scored three runs in the fifth to erase a 4-3 deficit and take a 6-4 lead.
Gray Stone added an insurance in the sixth. That made the difference when the Hornets scored twice in the seventh.
