SALISBURY — Three people have been displaced as the result of a house fire in Salisbury on Tuesday.
The Salisbury Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home in the 300 block of Imperial Drive at approximately 12:06 p.m. and arrived a few minutes later, finding heavy fire coming from the front of the building, said Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell.
The residents were inside the building when the fire started, but all were able to escape safely before firefighters arrived, according to Parnell. A Red Cross official said that the fire appeared to start in the kitchen of the home.
Firefighters brought the fire under control almost 20 minutes after it began at approximately 12:25 p.m. No firefighters were injured in the incident, Parnell said.
The Red Cross is assisting three adults who were displaced as a result of the damage to the home.
Salisbury Fire Department was the first on the scene. China Grove, East Spencer, Franklin Volunteer and Locke Fire Departments and Rowan Rescue Squad were also present on the scene.
