High school softball roundup: Shulenberger pitches no-hitter for Falcons

MOUNT ULLA — Arabelle Shulenberger pitched a no-hitter as West Rowan pounded Lake Norman Charter 10-0 in South Piedmont Conference softball on Monday.
Shulenberger struck out 10 and walked one. She also had two hits, including a home run.
Emma Clarke had a double and a triple for the Falcons (5-4, 3-1), who jumped on the Knights (2-7, 2-6) for five runs in the first inning.
Reese Poole had three hits, including two doubles. Kayla Burns had two hits. EA Nance had a double.

FARMINGTON — Davie (7-5) scored three runs in the first inning and cruised to an 11-1 non-conference win against Carson in five innings on Monday.
Caroline Snow and Emma Woodlief had the only hits for Carson (1-8). Woodlief knocked in Piper Thonen with the Cougars’ only run.

KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown scored seven runs in the fifth inning to beat Concord 7-3 in Monday’s non-conference game.
Isabella Butler struck out seven for the Wonders and held Concord (3-5) to two hits.
Kaylee Dunning had two doubles for the Wonders (2-5).

SALISBURY — Wheatmore pounded Salisbury 14-3 in a non-conference game played on Monday.
Salisbury (3-5) only got four hits, but Katie Peeler and Ashley Yang combined for a two-person cycle.
Yang tripled and singled and had one RBI. Peeler had a homer and double.
In the circle, Peeler struck out eight and walked eight.
Peeler is 10-for-12 for the season, with a homer, four doubles and two triples. She’s walked 13 times and been hit by pitches twice and has a .926 on-base percentage.
