Supreme court justice fails to support free speech

With recent oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Affirmative Action justice appointed by Biden for her skin color, Kentaji Jackson Brown, once again has shown she is out of her league. 

The government’s influence on Big Tech to suppress freedom of speech is being exposed after some states have sued on this matter. Justice Brown’s line of questioning revealed how she is siding with the government to probably allow future suppression in order “to protect” citizens. The Constitution and Bill of Rights are clear about who has the right for free speech, and it’s not the government.

It’s not surprising Brown appears to support government suppression. After all, during her confirmation hearings, she could not define “woman” when asked.

Stop using Cal Thomas

By my count, Cal Thomas has been prominently featured on the Sunday Opinion pages for 19 of the last 20 weeks, give or take a week. This would make sense if he were a staff or local writer. He’s not. Cal Thomas is the literal definition of “mainstream” media. He has been in national media for over 5 decades, worked for many of the largest media companies (NBC, Fox and USA Today), and, to the point, is substantially more partisan than your average journalist. Since these are the Opinion pages, why not present more varied perspectives? If you want a respected national conservative voice, use David Brooks, who, when he makes a point, doesn’t need to omit facts, exaggerate or use whataboutism. Or, wait for it… this is gonna be good… can you sense what is coming? Bring in liberal voices. Seeing as the Post likely pays to bring in national voices, readers would be better served by bringing in perspectives that contribute to substantive discussions about real issues from both sides of the aisle.
