High school softball roundup: South, West, East win SPC games

CHINA GROVE — South Rowan won 11-4 against Carson in South Piedmont Conference softball on Thursday.
Kynlee Dextraze went 3-for-3 for the Raiders (5-6-1, 5-4) with two RBIs. Leisha Carter had two hits, including a homer, and drove in two.
Eva Shue had a double and a triple.
Lexie Ritchie was in the circle and pitched a complete game.
Caroline Snow homered for the Cougars.

MOUNT ULLA — Emma Clarke hit her sixth home run and drove in three runs as West Rowan beat Northwest Cabarrus 10-0 in five innings in South Piedmont Conference softball.
Reese Poole had two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs for the Falcons (7-4, 5-1). Kayla Burns had two hits, including a double, and scored three runs.
Arabelle Shuleneberger had two doubles. Ella Doby and Lucy Shelton scored two runs each.
Shulenberger pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and only one walk.

GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan stayed on top in the South Piedmont Conference by pounding Concord 10-0.
Camryn Perkins pitched a three-hit shutout for the Mustangs (9-1, 9-0).
Kori Miller went 4-for-4, including a homer. Lily Kluttz homered. Madi Tigert went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Eleni Miller had two doubles.

CONCORD — A.L. Brown smashed West Cabarrus 28-13 in a wild Greater Metro Conference game played on Thursday.
The Wonders (3-5, 1-2) had 22 hits. They had an eight-run inning and three five-run innings.
Mady Baker and Myla McNeely led the onslaught with four hits each, and Baker scored five times.
Karma Little drove in four runs. Marynda Blackelder and Shayla Campbell had three hits each. Emmy David had three RBIs. Isabelle Butler had a triple and knocked in three.
