SALISBURY – A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for northwestern Rowan County, Davie County, and eastern Iredell County. The warning is in effect until 12:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service said radar showed a storm capable of producing quarter-sized hail and damaging winds was located between Woodleaf and Mocksville about 11:20 a.m. The storm is moving northeast at 50 miles an hour.

People in the storm’s path are warned to be ready to take shelter indoors.
