SALISBURY — The Rowan Chamber of Commerce has announced the opening of applications for the charter class of Youth Leadership Rowan. With a rich history of over 30 years in conducting Leadership Rowan for adults, the chamber is extending this opportunity to Rowan-Salisbury high school students for the first time. The program is scheduled to run from September 2024 to April 2025, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing future leaders.
The deadline to submit applications is Monday, April 15.
Nick Means, of F & M Bank and the distinguished chairman of the Leadership Rowan Steering Committee, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited to launch the new Youth Leadership Rowan program and look forward to helping our students become more involved in their hometown.”
Youth Leadership Rowan promises to deliver a transformative experience for both participants and the broader community. Rowan-Salisbury School (RSS) students will dedicate one day per month to immersing themselves in various aspects of the community, from government and education to business, human needs and the arts. Throughout the six-month program, participants will embark on exclusive tours and engage in hands-on experiences, facilitated by esteemed area leaders who confront our community’s most pressing challenges on a daily basis.
The chamber is able to provide this program free-of-charge for the students through generous community sponsors. If you are interested in providing a sponsorship, respond by April 26 to chamber President Elaine Spalding at espalding@rowanchamber.com.
