In Salisbury Police Department reports:

• An attempted larceny from a motor vehicle occurred in the 300 block of South Main Street between 2 p.m. on April 8 and 7:50 a.m. on April 9.
• A hit and run causing property damage occurred in the 400 block of South Main Street at 4 a.m. on April 10.
• Ra’quan Deral Smith, 22, was charged with assault on a female, a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and interfering with emergency communications on April 9.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• Littering or trash dumping occurred at Chickadee Lane at 11:28 a.m. on April 8.
• A larceny from a motor vehicle occurred at Higgins Way between 10 p.m. on April 7 and 10:45 a.m. on April 8.
• A theft of a motor vehicle occurred at Fish Pond Road between 2:30 p.m. on July 30, 2022 and noon on Dec. 15, 2023. It was reported on April 8, 2024.
• A larceny occurred at Majolica Road at 1:23 p.m. on April 8.
• A theft of a motor vehicle occurred at Garden Lane at 9 a.m. on April 7. It was reported on April 8.
• An illegal burn occurred at White Farm Road at 11:57 p.m. on April 8.
• Christina Hicks, 48, was charged with second-degree trespassing on April 8.
• Kyle Allen Bennett Sr., 34, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance on April 8.
• Daniel Alexander Montes-Medrano, 18, was charged with displaying a fictitious tag or license plate and improper use of license plates on a vehicle on April 8.
