Cassie Rice will be the guest speaker at the monthly Democratic breakfast on April 13th at 10 a.m. The doors to the office, located at 1504 W. Innes St. in Salisbury, will open at 9:45 a.m.
Her talk, “Story Sharing, Story Listening: Strengthening Basic Democracy,” will be about the importance of getting out to vote. She will provide specific strategies to help each person be more comfortable as they talk one on one with potential Democratic voters.
“Growing up in a political household, I learned early on that government has the ability to improve all lives. My grandmother, in particular, taught me to give a voice to those who do not have one and to stand for what is right, no matter the cost,” Rice said.
A Raleigh native, Rice earned a master’s degree in political science from UNC and a master’s degree in European studies from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. Rice serves as the chair of the Orange County Democratic Party, president of the N.C. Chairs Association, and works regularly with local and statewide Democratic leaders.
