SALISBURY — The West End Byrne Criminal Justice Initiative (BCJI) Grant Coordinator Chanel Nestor submitted her resignation to Police Chief P.J. Smith on Tuesday, April 16. Nestor was a coordinator for the Salisbury Police Department (SPD) for 18 months, managing the WEST END Grant project in the community’s West End.
“We appreciate Chanel’s hard work in Salisbury’s West End community,” said Chief Smith. “She did an amazing job coordinating the many complexities of managing a federal grant program and engaging the community. For that, we are grateful to her. We wish Chanel well.”
Despite Nestor’s resignation, the WEST END Grant initiative will continue to move forward as the 23 awarded organizations await the federal funds distribution from the United Way.
