SALISBURY — Pamela Evette Lynch of Salisbury received a lengthy prison sentence as a habitual felon in Rowan County Superior Court, Rowan County District Attorney Brandy Cook announced in a press release.
Lynch, 47, will spend at least seven years in prison for an incident where authorities said Lynch stole a woman’s credit card and made purchases throughout Salisbury. The purchases were made at Food Lion, Foremz convenience store, Shoe Show and Happy Traveler, where she rented a room and was later arrested.
On April 1, Lynch went into the Grayshores Trading Company on South Main Street.
When store clerk Wendy Beeker placed her purse down, Lynch took it and ran out of door.
Later, when Beeker realized her credit cards were missing, she called the Salisbury Police Department.
With help from the credit card issuers, officers determined the cards had been used by Lynch at the Happy Traveler Inn, where she had booked a room in her own name.
Lynch was previously convicted of felony offenses including financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretenses, forgery and financial card fraud.
On Friday, Lynch was convicted of two counts of felony financial card fraud, three counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses and admitted her status as a habitual felon.
She was sentenced to between 87 months and 114 months in prison.
