Kannapolis PD arrest suspect after discovering stolen vehicle at motel

KANNAPOLIS — A man wanted for crimes allegedly committed in Archdale earlier this week was apprehended in Kannapolis on Friday.
According to a press release from Annette Keller, the Kannapolis director of communications, at approximately 10:30, Kannapolis Police Officers located a 2012 Hyundai Genesis that was reported stolen at the Econo Lodge on Cloverleaf Parkway.
Police believed that the vehicle was potentially operated by a suspect, Josh Arquette who was wanted in connection to various crimes committed in Archdale, N.C. earlier this week.
Additional officers were reportedly called to the site and nearby rooms were evacuated.
Officers requested Arquette to surrender. After approximately ten minutes Arquette reportedly opened the door with his hands up and he was taken into custody along with a woman described as his girlfriend without incident.
