High school softball: Hornets roll against Cavs in first round

SALISBURY — Katie Peeler socked two home runs as Salisbury beat North Rowan 15-0 on Monday in the first round of the 1A/2A Central Carolina Conference Tournament.
Peeler had a 3-for-3 day. She scored four runs and drove in four.
Winning pitcher Ashley Yang also slugged a homer for the third-seeded Hornets and knocked in three runs.
Allie Peeler had two hits and scored three runs for the Hornets (12-9).
Tijah Sims had two hits. Jayla Robertson had two RBIs.
The Hornets scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second.
Sixth-seeded North (3-12) finished the season.
Salisbury will play No. 2 seed East Davidson on Tuesday at East Davidson.
