SALISBURY — The girls soccer season is over for all the Rowan teams except for Salisbury.
Playoff seeds were announced on Friday.
Salisbury is the 19th seed in the 2A West bracket and will travel to Yadkin County to play at No. 14 Forbush on Monday.
The Hornets (11-4-3) are in the playoffs for the 23rd time. Forbush (12-7-1), a perennial power, has been in the playoffs even more often than the Hornets.
The second round of the playoffs is set for Thursday, May 16.
Third-seeded Wilkes Central is the likely second-round opponent for the Salisbury-Forbush survivor. Wilkes Central plays No. 30 seed Southwestern Randolph in the opening round.
South Rowan, which went 9-9 and split 16 South Piedmont Conference matches, finished 33rd in the 3A West RPI rankings and just missed making the 3A playoffs.
The four teams that finished ahead of South in the SPC standings — Sixth-seeded Lake Norman Charter, Northwest Cabarrus, Central Cabarrus and Robinson — did make the playoffs.
West Davidson is the No. 4 seed in the 2A West bracket, and East Davidson also made it.
South Davidson is in the 1A West bracket.
