FAITH — A man is dead after he suffered a medical emergency while driving a motorcycle that caused him to crash.
Officers responded to the area of the 400 block of South Main Street in Faith at approximately 4 p.m. after bystanders said that they noticed a man on a motorcycle drive left of center and crash, said Granite Quarry-Faith Joint Police Authority Chief Mark Cook. Officers were reportedly informed that a witness on scene had checked the man’s pulse and was unable to find one.
Cook identified the driver of the motorcycle as 58-year-old Robert “Buddy” Heilig. Officers that arrived on scene were reportedly able to confirm that Heilig died in the crash.
Responders confirmed that Heilig suffered a medical emergency, Cook said, which officers believe led to the crash.
Cook confirmed that the incident was a single-vehicle crash.
