DAVIE COUNTY — The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued an Ashanti Alert for a missing Davie County woman that could be traveling through Rowan County.
The woman is identified in the alert as 60-year-old Cynthia Roberson Gobble, described as 5-foot-6, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and wearing a pink short-sleeved shirt that says “Colorado”.
She is believed to be with 59-year-old Gregory Wayne Gobble, who is described as 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and with a mustache and beard that is turning gray. Gregory Gobble could be wearing a baseball cap with “Colorado” on it and a white t-shirt.
The two are believed to be in a 1997 F250 Ford pickup truck with an N.C. plate with the number YV1974. They were last seen at a home in the 300 block of Country Lane in Davie County. The alert lists a house at High Rock Lake in Davidson County as a possible destination, which could take the two through the western part of Rowan County.
Anyone with information about Cynthia Gobble is asked to call Captain DJ Smith at the Davie County Sheriff’s Office at 336-399-1706.
The NCCMP cancelled the alert at the request of the sheriff’s office at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Davie County Sheriff J.D. Hartman told the Davie County Enterprise-Record that the cancellation was due to both Cynthia Gobble and Gregory Gobble being found dead in Iredell County. Hartman did not relay any more information about how or where the two were found, only that investigators are processing the scene.
