Gunshot wound ruled self-inflicted

SALISBURY — After a man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound, law enforcement was called in to investigate. During the course of the investigation, they discovered that the victim most likely shot himself.
According to reports from the Salisbury Police Department, the victim arrived at the hospital shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. His injury was described as a gunshot wound to the right leg near his knee and ankle.
While the victim did not volunteer much information to law enforcement, the driver that dropped him off shared a few details that precipitated the shooting.
The driver said that they had been at a club in the 600 block of South Main Street in Salisbury when a group of people gathered around the victim’s car. During the encounter, the victim reportedly shot himself in the leg.
Blood was detected in the vehicle which prompted law enforcement to process it for investigation. No charges have been filed as of this writing.
