SALISBURY — A pizza delivery driver was reportedly robbed at gunpoint while on a call on Saturday. The gun in question? His.
According to reports from the Salisbury Police Department, a driver for Pizza Hut was out on delivery to an apartment complex on Gold Hill Drive around 8:30 p.m.
The driver reportedly noticed that the receipt did not have an apartment listed so he called the customer’s number upon arrival at the complex. The driver subsequently noticed three males sitting idly by the apartment raising his caution.
The driver reportedly grabbed his weapon and strapped it to his hip before making the delivery. According to the driver’s report, as he returned to his car, one of the three individuals that was previously observed sitting struck up a conversation with him about firearms.
One of those individuals reportedly complimented the delivery driver’s firearm before asking to hold it. According to the report, the victim absentmindedly handed it over despite it having a fully loaded magazine and chamber.
A few seconds later, the suspect allegedly pointed the gun at the driver and told him to get back before leaving the scene.
