SALISBURY — Police say that they are investigating and have a lead after someone shot at a man standing in his yard on Monday.
Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Partee Street at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday in reference to shots being fired in the area, said Sergeant Justin Crotty, a spokesperson for the Salisbury Police Department. There, they reportedly found a man in his yard who said that he had been simply standing there when someone drove by in a passenger vehicle and shot at him.
A Salisbury-Rowan Utilities worker on scene said that they had witnessed the incident, said Crotty. That worker told officers that he had witnessed a silver passenger vehicle drive slowly past the home, with a woman allegedly hanging out of the window and arguing with the victim. The woman then fired multiple shots at the victim but did not hit him or anyone else, said Crotty.
Officers were reportedly able to search the area and find multiple shell casings on the ground. Crotty said that the officers have a possible lead on the vehicle, as well.
