Minor league baseball: Cannon Ballers win first half, will be in playoffs

Kannapolis will be part of the minor league playoffs for the first time since 2018.
The Cannon Ballers put together a great stretch of winning 25 out of 32 games and clinched the first-half championship of the Carolina League’s South Division on Sunday. The clincher was a 6-0 victory in Salisbury, Md., against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
Kannapolis took a 39-23 record into Tuesday’s game and is finishing up the first half against Myrtle Beach.
The standings will reboot on June 21 with everyone going back to 0-0 for the second half.
