SALISBURY — On Saturday, Salisbury will be awash in all the colors of the rainbow as it celebrates the annual Pride Festival at Bell Tower Green.

Salisbury Pride President Michael Brooks said on Wednesday that the organization hopes to match its estimated attendance of more than 5,000 visitors during last year’s event.

Officially, the festival begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. A Rainbow Walk, which first launched at last year’s festival, will commence at 10:45 a.m. at the main stage.

“People dressed up in rainbow attire or with flags start at the main stage at 10:45 a.m. and make a lap around the park,” Brooks said.

There will be more than 100 booths set up throughout the park with various community organizations, churches and food and beverage vendors.

Free water stations will also be available on site, which may come in handy as the temperatures are expected to be in the 90s.

Entertainment options include multiple musical acts, drag kings and queens, magicians and face painters.

“We want everybody to come out and have a good time,” Brooks said.

An official 21 and up after party will be held at the Fish Bowl, beginning at 8 p.m.

“They have hosted that every year,” Brooks said. “There is no cover and we will have entertainment there as well.”
