Workshop burns

Firefighters were called to the scene of a working fire at a workshop on Sherrills Ford Road on Thursday night.
Numerous callers reported the fire at 2235 Sherrills Ford Road to 911 communicators around 11:30 p.m.
As firefighters worked, nearby woods caught on fire. Calls were put in later to Duke Energy to secure power to the structure.
Crews were still on the scene after midnight working, and they made a call for more lighting to assist those in the darkened area.
Firefighters were called to another fire early this morning at 125 Misty Lane in Rockwell. They arrived just after 1 a.m. and were able to quickly get the structure fire under control. But the homeowner later was reported to be having difficulty breathing, so EMS was requested to assist.
