SALISBURY — One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after an early-morning shooting in Salisbury on Saturday.
The shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the area DJ’s Restaurant near the 1500 block of West Innes Street, said Major Justin Crews, public information officer for the Salisbury Police Department.
While the officers were responding to the location, they were notified that a victim had gone to the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sergeant Justin Crotty, another spokesperson for the department.
The police department is continuing to investigate the shooting, which included cordoning off the area through the mid-morning.
Crotty said that the investigation showed that the shooting likely occurred behind Monterrey’s Mexican Restaurant, which is in the 100 block of North Link Avenue.
However, Crews said that the victim is reluctant to cooperate with the investigation. Crotty said that the victim did not give any details when officers spoke to them at the hospital.
