Salisbury teen slain in Tuesday shooting: Kannapolis PD seeks info

KANNAPOLIS — A Salisbury teen was killed in a shooting in Kannapolis shortly before midnight on Tuesday and local authorities are seeking input from the public as the investigation gets underway.

In a Wednesday morning release, Kannapolis Communications Director Annette Keller confirmed that Damien Carter Senesaynho, 18, of Salisbury, was pronounced dead at the scene of an apparent shooting that took place in the 600 block of Caribbean Court.

According to Keller, the Kannapolis Police Department responded to the scene in reference to a report of shots being fired.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found Senseaynho, who was reportedly deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Another victim, who remains unidentified, was transported by Cabarrus County EMS to Atrium Health Cabarrus for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Kannapolis Police investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for Senesaynho’s death.

“No suspects are in custody at this time and investigators have determined this is an isolated incident with no threat to the public,” Keller said in the release.
