Delta Xi Omega’s Fashionetta Pageant crowns 2024 winners

SALISBURY — The Delta Xi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. announced the winners of the 2024 Fashionetta Pageant.

Held on June 29 at Varick Auditorium on the campus of Livingstone College, the annual event serves as the chapter’s signature fundraiser. The pageant, which features girls aged 8-14, saw 12 young participants this year. The Fashionetta journey begins in January and culminates in June, during which contestants, guided by Delta Xi Omega members, acquire skills that will aid their present and future success. This program not only provides these young women with opportunities for social development but also raises funds through scholarships benefiting deserving high school senior students and to assist community agencies with programs in the community.

Miss Fashionetta 2024 is Jer’Ryase Ellis, daughter of the late Rasheidia Woodberry and granddaughter of William and April Woodberry. Ellis was sponsored by Lovetta Ealy Moore and escorted by Caleb Cameron, son of Andrea Cameron.

Little Miss Fashionetta is Serenity Le’nae Nunn, daughter of Tylijah Nunn and Harvey R. McCorkle III. Nunn was sponsored by Krystal Stukes and escorted by Jaden Tillman, son of Kwame and Shirlita Lewis.

Miss Fashionetta first runner up is Komari Jones. Her escort was Charles Blackman Jr. Little Miss first runner up is Williya Fields. Her escort was Issac Johnson Jr. 

Other participants were Alona Allen, Nadia Banks, Amelia Coble, Harmonee Dobie, Nyla Fields, Camille Jumah, Selena Royce and Angel Russell. The escorts were Kyden Blackwell, Noah Cameron, Kingston Dalton, Kashad Hasty, Dayvien Lindsey, Christian McRae, Evan Vernado and Bryce White.

Russell was awarded 2024 Miss Congeniality. Miss Congeniality is the girl chosen by her peers as the most helpful and friendliest of the girls participating in the pageant. 

President Alisa Russell,Chairman Sheila Brown-Miller, Co-Chairman Sherry Alexander and the members of the Delta Xi Omega chapter extend heartfelt congratulations to all the talented young girls and their escorts who participated, making this year’s Fashionetta a resounding success. The chapter eagerly anticipates next year’s 2025 Fashionetta Pageant.
