High school basketball: West girls get another ring

MOUNT ULLA — Members of West Rowan’s girls basketball team received another ring on Friday.
The Falcons, coached by Ashley Poole, have won two straight 3A state championships.
Poole has coached 206 wins in 11 seasons in Mount Ulla.
The Falcons turned in 31-0 and 31-1 seasons and had winning streaks of 33 and 29. The lone loss in that span was to 4A Lake Norman.
West averaged a school-record 74 points, while allowing 29 per game in 2022-23.
In 2023-24, The Falcons bumped their school record to 77.3 points per game, while allowing 33.
