High school volleyball: Mustangs, Raiders are 2-0 after Wednesday wins

GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan swept Northwest Cabarrus 25-14, 25-21 and 21-17 in South Piedmont Conference volleyball on Wednesday.

Cameron Ostle had 13 kills, while Alli Corl had 11 and Madalynn Tigert added nine.

Jacee Eudy had 31 assists.

Corl had four aces for the Mustang (2-0, 2-0).

Ostle and Jordan Dry had 10 digs each. Drye was the key to East’s serve-receive.

CONCORD – South Rowan kept pace with the Mustangs by sweeping South Piedmont Conference opponent Robinson 25-9, 25-17 and 25-15 on the road.

Avery Fisher had nine kills for the Raiders (2-0, 2-0). Meghan Eagle, Meredith Faw and Clancy Street had four apiece.

Faw had 18 digs. Eagle and Campbell Withers had 12 each. Fisher and Raegan Shell had nine.

Shell had 12 assists, while Eagle had eight.

• South’s jayvees got five aces from Lexi Parks and swept the Bulldogs.

MOUNT ULLA – New head coach Tiffany Brooks said West Rowan played much better on Wednesday than in Monday’s loss at South Rowan, but the Falcons fell 25-18, 25-17 and 25-21 to South Piedmont Conference opponent Lake Norman Charter.

Lydia Wilson had seven kills for the Falcons. Skyy Ruben had four kills and four blocks.

Sophia Blackledge and Lucy McLean Shelton had seven digs each.
